  • Dr. Liu joined the School of Education at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in July 2021. She received her Ph.D. in Higher Education from the Pennsylvania State University in 2017. Before joining SJTU, Dr. Liu worked for the OECD, Global Education Monitoring Report (GEMR) at the UNESCO, UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) and University of Hamburg in Germany. Her research interests focus on i) the impact of education reforms on skills/competences, ii) the intersections between education, skills and labor market, and iii) comparative education research using large-scale assessment data such as the PISA and PIAAC. Her research has been funded by the American Institutes for Research (AIR), OECD, and the Hanseatic City of Hamburg. She has extensive consultancy experiences for international and national policy agencies including UNESCO’s Global Alliance to Monitor Learning (GAML) and China Research Institute for Science Popularization.
