Assistant Professor
Qianru (Tiffany) Yang is an Assistant Professor in the School of Education at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She received her Ph.D. in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and the Harvard Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, with a concentration in Human Development, Learning, and Teaching, and a Secondary Field in Data Science from the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Prior to joining the School of Education at SJTU, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Stanford Graduate School of Education. Tiffany’s research examines environmental influences on children’s cognitive development and learning, with a particular focus on how adult-child and other social interactions support positive outcomes in both domain-specific skills (e.g., math, science) and domain-general skills (e.g., curiosity, creativity). She is also exploring innovative approaches to educational and psychological measurement, as well as the use of AI-assisted tools such as large language models, to enhance the scalability of behavioral and observational research.
