From March 24th to 26th, LIN Jie, a PhD candidate from the School of Education, attended the 8th International Conference on Education 2022 (ICEDU 2022). This year, the theme of the conference focused on “Education in Times of Uncertainty: Preparing for the Future”, with 150 participants from 33 different countries participated.
During the conference, LIN presented her research titled “Positioning of China's Life Science & Medicine disciplines”. Coronavirus pandemic has highlighted the importance of life science and medicine disciplines like never before. The advancement in these areas are essential to health challenges and efforts aimed at recovering economy after the pandemic. Her research aimed to assess the international level of China's life sciences & medicine disciplines. Though a comparative analysis between international disciplines, she found that there a large gap between the reality and the dream of being world-class life science & medicine disciplines still needed to be bridged.
LIN said it was such a privilege to present her research to an international audience as the feedback and discussion came from a much broader perspective. Also it provided her with a pool of knowledge and offered her new research contacts and a new drive for her future academic career.
Her oral presentation was a success and she sincerely thanked her supervisor - Professor LIU Nian Cai and SOE for their full support.
