​Professor CHIANG Feng-Kuang attended the 2nd International Congress & Exhibition on Current Trends on Science Technology Education (SCITEED 2024)

Professor CHIANG Feng-Kuang, Vice Dean of SOE and Director of the Future Education Research Center, was invited by Gebze Technical University in Turkey to attend the 2nd International Congress & Exhibition on Current Trends on Science Technology Education (SCITEED 2024) and was invited to deliver a special speech. The conference aimed to explore how to shape future education that enables every student, regardless of age or level, to understand and appreciate natural and social sciences, emphasizing that education transcends the boundaries of traditional disciplines, and that students need skills and a global perspective to navigate the constantly changing global landscape despite knowledge. Nearly 200 scholar representatives from approximately 25 countries worldwide attended the conference, covering various fields from basic to higher education.


Professor CHIANG delivered a special talk at the STEM Education session, focusing on the implementation of STEM education in primary and secondary schools in mainland China. The content included interdisciplinary teaching cases, STEAM education public welfare camps during summer and winter breaks, and how collaboration among STEM teachers can promote innovative teaching practices in primary and secondary schools. Finally, he proposed the fundamental framework of STEM schools. Professor CHIANG also collaborated with Professor Hanna Haydar, Director of the Mathematics Education Research Institute at the City University of New York, on research cooperation and discussed cooperation and exchanges in the future development of curriculum teaching and talent cultivation for cultivating math teachers with computational thinking in secondary schools.
