Recently, Dr. DAI Haimin, an assistant professor at the Centre of Future Education in the School of Education, returned from her academic visit to the UK, funded by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University-Warwick University Seed Project. Her host for this visit was Professor Chris Brown, who has recently moved to the University of Southampton, making it the destination of her visit. Professor Brown is the head of the Southampton Education School and a distinguished visiting professor at the University of Tübingen.
In addition to the discussion of the seed project, Dr. DAI was invited to participate in the LEEP meeting held by the Educational Leadership Centre at the school. During the seminar, she engaged in in-depth academic discussions with faculty members of the Southampton Education School on various topics, including online learning, the impact of lesson plans on teachers, sustainable education, and the influence of AI on educational policy.
This exchange has infused new energy into their collaborative research and laid a solid foundation for future cooperation. It also provided valuable opportunities for potential collaboration with other faculty members at Southampton. The two researchers plan to continue their collaboration on generative AI in the next phase of their work.
