In January, SOE hosted a visit led by Prof. Marilyne Andersen, Full Professor of Sustainable Construction Technologies at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). The delegation includes Philippe Roesle, CEO of Swissnex in China, and Cissy Yiwen Sun, Head of Academia and Arts at Swissnex. Representing the SOE are Prof. CHIANG Fengkuang (Director of the Center for Future Education and Vice Dean), Dr. DAI Haimin, Dr. WANG Yu and Ms. CHEN Ruoxi, International Affairs Officer.
Held at Chen Suikao Hall, the event commenced with Ms. CHEN Ruoxi's overview of SOE's institutional history and development trajectory, highlighting the school's cross-disciplinary educational strategies. Prof. CHIANG and Dr. DAI subsequently presented their pioneering work in AI-integrated pedagogy, prompting insightful exchanges with Prof. Andersen. The EPFL scholar probed AI's transformative impact on China's educational landscape while sharing comparative European perspectives on technological adaptation in academia.
The dialogue explored potential joint initiatives between EPFL and SJTU in next-generation education models, with particular emphasis on fostering innovation in urban sustainability and climate-responsive development strategies. This high-level engagement highlights Swissnex's ongoing efforts to strengthen Sino-Swiss academic collaboration and drive sustainable innovation through international knowledge exchange.
