On January 3, 2025, 2024 SJTU International Young Scholars Forum on Education (Winter) of SOE was successfully held. This forum adopted a combination of online and offline methods, building a platform for in-depth exchanges and cooperation among young scholars at home and abroad. WANG Linyuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the SOE, attended the forum and delivered an opening speech, introducing the school’s efforts and achievements in the construction of a professional teaching staff and the shaping of the influence of educational disciplines in China. Secretary Wang Linyuan encouraged the young scholars present to boldly showcase their academic achievements and jointly explore the cutting-edge issues and hot topics in the field of education. The forum was presided over by CIANG Fengguang, Vice Dean and Tenured Professor of the SOE, and FENG Zhuolin, Assistant to the Dean and Professor of the SOE.

Young scholars from prestigious universities at home and abroad gave reports on different cutting-edge topics respectively. CHEN Jingjing,  from Tsinghua University, with the topic of “Research on the Brain Mechanism of Learning in Real Classrooms”, introduced how to use wearable brain imaging devices to track students’ neurophysiological activities in real classrooms, and achieve precise detection of the attention level in classroom learning through the method of inter-brain attention, so as to improve the effect of individual learning state tracking. YANG Qianru, from Harvard University in the United States with the topic of “Early Childhood Development and Learning: The Influence of Environmental Factors and Learning Skills for Future Education”, explored the influence of environmental factors on children’s development and learning, and emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary general learning abilities in future education. ZHANG Ying, from the University of Hong Kong, gave a report titled “Teacher-Student Interaction in Mathematics Classrooms Supported by Dynamic Visualization Technology: Some Thoughts on Pre-service Teacher Education Internships”, proposing a dialogic teaching theoretical framework supported by dynamic visualization technology, providing scalable, sustainable and disseminating guidance for pre-service teacher training. ZENG Jialing, from Columbia University in the United States, gave a report on “Research on Learning State Recognition Supported by Artificial Intelligence: Analysis of Cognitive Load State Based on Multimodal Physiological Signals”. Through analyzing the changes in learners’ cognitive load, this research realized the continuous recognition and real-time monitoring of learning states, providing a reference basis for precise feedback and personalized optimization in the intelligent learning environment. In addition, a total of thirteen scholars from Cornell University in the United States, the University of California, Berkeley in the United States, University College London in the United Kingdom, Peking University, the University of Hong Kong and other institutions gave lectures and shared their insights.
