Spearheaded by School of Education (SOE) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and co-organized with the Hong Kong Association for Science and Technology Education and the Hong Kong Subsidized Primary Schools Council, the 2026 "Future Hong Kong" Digital and Technology Education Study Tour was successfully held in Shanghai. Backed by the HKSAR Education Bureau and relevant central authorities, the program brought together 30 Hong Kong primary school principals and vice-principals to explore innovative practices in AI-empowered education.

Centering on the digital transformation of teaching and learning, the study tour featured specialized academic lectures delivered by SOE scholars from SJTU, covering topics such as human-AI collaborative classroom design and age-appropriate AI literacy training for K-12 students. Beyond theoretical sharing, participants undertook immersive site visits to leading tech enterprises, modern science museums, smart university campuses, and exemplary primary schools in Shanghai, gaining firsthand experience of how state-of-the-art digital technologies are integrated into everyday teaching and educational management.

During the closing sharing session, the school leaders highly affirmed the tours practical and professional value. They recognized that this cross-border exchange effectively bridges academic research with on-the-ground school practice, providing actionable references for optimizing curriculum design, enhancing teaching effectiveness, and nurturing students' innovative and critical thinking in the AI era. As a key long-term exchange platform connecting Shanghai and Hong Kong, the annual "Future Hong Kong" program continues to promote experience sharing, deepen cooperation in digital and technology education, and drive the high-quality development of innovative education in Hong Kong.
