Spain’s EducAcción Foundation Visits SOE

On October 19, 2026, a delegation from Spain’s EducAcción Foundation visited the School of Education (SOE) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). The delegation comprised Dr. Sonia Díez, Founder and President; José Picó, Vice President; and Hong Chen, Senior Advisor and Alumni from SJTU. Dean WU Jingyi, Vice Dean CHIANG Feng-kuang, and Assistant Dean for International Affairs ZHANG Xiaoqiao participated in the meeting.

Dr. Zhang first presented an overview of the School’s development, academic strengths, degree programs, and current activities, introducing its distinctive approaches to education and research. Then, Professor CHIANG shared ongoing research and practical initiatives in artificial intelligence in education undertaken by his team and the Center for Future Education, highlighting several current projects and their progress. In the end, Chair Professor WU discussed relevant national education policies alongside examples of practice at SJTU, offering the delegation further insight into China’s educational development and the connections between policy and practice.

Despite the limited time, the meeting offered a warm and productive exchange. Both sides welcomed the opportunity to learn from one another and expressed hope that the visit would mark the beginning of further meaningful conversations and potential collaboration in educational innovation and AI.
