WANG Shuai, Associate Professor from the School of Education (SOE), has published two papers in “Higher Education” and “Journal of Computing in Higher Education”, both of which are top peer-reviewed academic journals covering educational developments.

From March 24th to 26th, LIN Jie, a PhD candidate from the School of Education, attended the 8th International Conference on Education 2022 under the theme “Education in Times of Uncertainty: Preparing for the Future”, consisting of 150 participants from 33 different countries.

As the recent COVID-19 lockdowns continue, countless universities find creative ways to support their communities. On March 20, 2022 (Sunday), the School of Education (SOE), International Student Center, and International Student Service Center at Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU) came together and held the webinar “Let's Talk: The Stories of International Students”, focusing on supporting their international students on campus.

The crucial role of music in helping people tide through COVID-19 lockdowns was recently demonstrated at the Minhang campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University when teachers sang for students confined to their dorms while delivering meals to them.

This coming Sunday, two young faculty members from the School of Education here at SJTU joint us and hosting a webinar to share their experiences during the lockdown. 

As outlined in the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2020, 50% of all employees around the world will need reskilling by 2025. The need to future-proof people’s skills has never been so urgent with the COVID-19 pandemic bringing about unprecedented structural change in many sectors, job transitions and shift to remote working.

The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Excellent Young Scholars Fund (Overseas) aims to attract and encourage overseas outstanding young scholars (including non-Chinese foreigners) who have made good achievements in natural science, engineering and technology to work in China. 

U21 Education Innovation Symposium was held online from February 16th to 17th, with the theme of "Teaching for Sustainability", divided into six sessions, including Introduction to Teaching for Sustainability, Teaching Approaches, Faculty Development, and Looking Beyond the Campus: Partnerships for Sustainability. Faculty members from SOE, Dr. Chen Shuhua, and Dr. Yan Xiaomei attended the symposium. 

On December 15th, the 2021 Student Social Studies Summary Conference of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) was successfully held in Chen Ruiqiu Building. The summer social studies team of the School of Education (SOE) stood out among hundreds of teams. Not only did the SOE’s team win the Grand Prize for Summer Social Studies of SJTU, but also was named "National Best Team" in the activity of "Finding the National Top 100 Summer Social Studies Teams of University Students".

On December 10th, School of Education held a jogging event celebrating its first anniversary. All students, faculty members and staff were invited to join the event. 

The School of Education (SOE) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) has been given the degree conferral right of the course-based (taught) master’s program in Education (Master of Education) by the State Council, marking a new stepping stone for the school development.

Headway has been made in research at the School of Education this year, with seven research achievements have been awarded, breaking a record high.
