报告题目：Evaluating University Teaching

报告摘要：

In this presentation, I will first discuss the value and necessity of evaluating university teaching. I will then share the results of an international survey, carried out by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), of common approaches to fostering quality teaching including evaluation, and discuss issues concerning validity and reliability associated with the most common approach: student course ratings. I will end the presentation by elaborating on how teaching is evaluated at McGill University.

报告人介绍：

Dr. Alenoush Saroyan is a Professor of Educational Psychology and the previous Chair of the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at McGill University in Montréal, Canada. Her areas of specialization and research include postsecondary teaching and learning, academic leadership, program design, and quality assurance.

As a consultant to various international organizations including the World Bank, the OECD, UNESCO, the European Commission, and The Canadian International Development Agency, Dr. Saroyan has worked on the reform of higher education systems, on the development of quality assurance frameworks and practices, and on professional development of academics. She publishes regularly and has been invited as a keynote speaker to policy oriented conferences to more than 20 countries. One of her books entitled “Rethinking Teaching in Higher Education” captures a model of academic development that has now been adopted by more than 15 institutions nationally and internationally.

为了积极落实学校一流学科建设相关精神，切实有效地加快一流学科建设进程，高等教育学学科群成立建设委员会，由教育学、心理学、体育学三个参建学科单位及2014年上海交通大学教育学科建设联盟单位组成，包括：高等教育研究院、上海市精神卫生中心、体育系、规划发展处、教学发展中心等。

7月20日下午，高等教育学学科群建设委员会第一次会议在闵行校区陈瑞球楼242会议室召开，学科群建设委员会委员、研究生院、重点建设办公室、文科建设处等职能部门负责人、一流学科参建单位教师代表等参加会议。会议由高等教育学科群建设委员会召集人刘念才院长主持。

高等教育学学科群主要建设世界一流大学研究方向、教育教学与人才成长研究方向、临床心理与心理健康方向、运动与大学生健康方向、“一带一路”高等教育方向及大学生成长与心理健康交叉学科方向。会上，冯倬琳、岑逾豪、李春波、陈作松分别代表各学科方向进行了汇报，主要围绕各学科方向的发展目标、建设内容和主要举措等，与会人员进行了热烈的讨论，相关部处领导王亚光、张国栋、刘精精、黎晓玲等提了不少建设性的意见。

会议重点研讨了交叉平台的建设，与会各方积极发言，对于咨询服务、资源共享、业务合作、数据库建设等方面进行了热烈的讨论，精卫中心副书记赵敏认为这种“面对面”的对话和交流非常有必要，对于学科方向和交叉平台建设都有很大的启发和帮助。通过此次会议，将以学科群建设为契机、努力打造学科群共建共享的数据库品牌，构建学科群工作研讨会、学科群学术论坛、学科群沙龙等交流机制，进行以学科交叉为目标的课题招标。各单位充分沟通、群策群力，共同为建设高等教育学一流学科群努力。

2018年7月9日，美国印第安纳大学教授、教育部长江学者讲座教授丁颖博士应邀到访上海交通大学高等教育研究院，在陈瑞球楼242室为高教院师生带来题为“数据驱动的文献计量学”的精彩报告。本次讲座由刘念才院长主持，高教院师生二十余人参与本次讲座并进行了积极交流。

2018年6月24-27日，第125届美国工程教育协会年会暨第七届美国工程教育协会国际论坛在美国盐湖城会议中心举办。我院硕士研究生刘蓉蓉参加了此次年会暨国际论坛。本次年会的主题为：了解美国工程教育发展趋势，追踪国际工程教育研究动态与热点，总结工程教育人才培养创新模式与实践案例，促进工程教育研究的发展。来自世界各国工程教育方面的研究者，包括美国工程院(NAE)、美国电气和电子工程师协会(IEEE)、美国工程与技术认证协会(ABET)、国际工程教育学会联盟(IFEES)等重要国际组织成员共3000余名代表参与了此次论坛。

6月22日上午，科睿唯安（Clarivate Analytics，原汤森路透知识产权与科技事业部）全球CEO Jay Nadler、亚太区总裁刘煜、中国区业务总监胡大龙一行到访我院，我院刘念才院长、程莹博士、冯倬琳博士参与了会见。双方就大学评价与排名、定量科学评价与科学政策等领域的学术研究和咨询服务展开深入的讨论，并达成了进一步深入合作的意向，希望能够通过共同努力推动大学排名的持续发展，为世界各国的高等教育和科技政策提供支持和建议。

报告题目： Data-Driven Science of Science

报告摘要: 
Data have fundamentally changed our daily lives. Data now can be bought and sold, and soon data analytics will become commodity as well. Data have significantly challenged every discipline to revisit its research roadmap to stay competitive. This talk will point out the paradigm shift of bibliometrics (or science of science in a broader way) and illustrate some potential interesting research directions that are data-driven. It will showcase some concrete researches on data-driven discovery and data-driven decision making.

报告人介绍: 
Dr. Ying Ding is a Professor at School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering and is currently associate director of data science online program at Indiana University. She has been involved in various NIH, NSF and European-Union funded projects. She has published 190+ papers in journals, conferences, and workshops, and served as the program committee member for 180+ international conferences. She is the co-editor of book series called Semantic Web Synthesis by Morgan & Claypool publisher. She is co-author of the book "Intelligent Information Integration in B2B Electronic Commerce" published by Kluwer Academic Publishers, and co-author of the book chapter in "Spinning the Semantic Web" published by MIT Press. She is the co-editor in chief for Journal of Data and Information Science, and serves as the editorial board member for four ISI indexed journals in Information Science and Semantic Web. She is the co-founder of Data2Discovery company advancing cutting edge technologies in data science. Her current research interests include data-driven knowledge discovery, Semantic Web, knowledge graph, scientific collaboration, and the application of Web Technology.

近日，由国务院学位委员会办公室、中国学位与研究生教育学会、学位与研究生教育杂志社共同组织的第七届《学位与研究生教育》优秀论文评选结果公布，我院外导师张国栋教授获撰写的论文《生命周期视角下的学位点评估体系及动态调整》被评为一等奖。该文发表在2016年《学位与研究生教育》第7期上。
《学位与研究生教育》自1984年创刊以来，杂志社会同国务院学位委员会办公室、中国学位与研究生教育学会已经举办了六次优秀论文评选活动。

2018年6月22日上海交通大学高等教育研究院（高教院）与上海交通大学出版社（交大社）在闵行校区陈瑞球楼242会议室签署《上海交通大学高等教育研究院与上海交通大学出版社战略合作框架协议》，标志着双方全方位合作进入新的阶段。

上海交通大学高教院院长刘念才教授、交大社总编辑李广良、副总编陈勤出席了签约仪式，刘念才教授、李广良总编辑分别代表双方签署了战略合作协议。参加这次签约活动的还有高教院的刘莉、高艳、郑天一及交大社的郁金豹、易文娟、李旦等老师。
